In search of the Blue Pots

Last week I went into Fred Meyers to buy flowers and as I was looking around I came across a big blue pot and was immediately interested. I had been wanting to replace my boring brown plastic pots with blue {I have a thing for blue pots} and had been recently looking. Not only did every place I look not have 4 pots they were very expensive {way over $100} so it was had to justify the cost. The cost of the pots at Fred Meyer were way less than $100 but I quickly figured out that each store was shipped one of this size and I was going to have to drive around to find them. The second and third pot was realitively easy to find at stores not too far from home - I just drove there, walked into the store and there it was. Getting it loaded on the flat and then into my car was another story but I was excited that it was turning out so easy to find all four pots. By the weekend I was on a mission to find the 4th and last pot and headed out in Terry's truck with my mom {no GPS} to Beaverton where I was sure they would have one. No such luck. I had an idea where another store was so I drove there - no pot. By this time my Mom remembered that she had a portable GPS in her purse and I used my phone to search for store addresses. I drove to two other stores with no luck and was starting to get disappointed as I was running out of time {we had plans for the evening and I needed to get home - and soon} I decided to try one more store and crossed over the river to the East side of downtown Portland to a part of town in my 17+ years living here in Oregon. It was fun to see the old houses with so much charter {I should have photographed some but I was on a singular mission}. I walked into the Fred Meyer and although they had a beautiful garden center I didn't see any pots - until..... I walked further back and there was my 4th and final pot! Whew! That was a lot of driving around but I think it was worth it. Here are my finished products.

from the brown plastic to pretty blue

to my beautiful planted pots - sigh, they make me happy

Can you come do my house! Seriously. They are so pretty! But you would have to also come water them and fertilize them. It would give us an excuse to see each other more!
