I wonder if...

on April 15th I didn't pay my taxes, would I be given a post in the presidents cabinet and have all the penalties forgiven? I think not.

I realize that our economy is in big trouble and we need help and that these men are {supposedly} the "best men for the job" but if that is really true {that they are the best men for the job} then I am quite nervous about the prospects for the economy. 

Daschle failed to pay $128,000 in taxes

Geithner failed to pay over $34,000 in taxes

Daschle was even quoted on the Congressional Record on May 7, 1998 saying "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter". 

I bet he is bumming he ever said that.

Can you imagine if it was you or I who didn't pay these taxes, I bet the IRS wouldn't be quite so forgiving.

I will now step down off my soap box. It was just bugging me and I had to get it off my chest.
