Welcome

Every year the first assembly at school it the welcome assembly {this was news to me} where they have each child who is new to the school stand up and come to the front of the gym as they are introduced to the school. They start with the oldest 'new' child all the way down to the kindergarten class. It was absolutely adorable to watch the little kindergartners walk up as the whole school cheered for them and the kids that had older siblings in the school got some of the loudest cheers. When Emily walked up and got her LOUD cheer I expected her to cover her ears {she doesn't normally like loud noises especially clapping} but she just basked in the attention and enjoyed her moment in the spotlight.

Photo note: For the first time ever thanks to the on-line photo class I have been taking I changed the white balance from auto to tungsten to balance the lighting in the gym and make the lighting more natural. They are not the best photos I have taken but I am excited to have the knowledge to know how to change something I NEVER would have touched before.

I also took a peak in the class room this week when I walked Emily in and she is bonding with some of the girls so other than being exhausted she is doing quite well {for now}.
