It's tuff being 5!

Before Emily could go to Kindergarten she needed her 5 year old check up which included 4, yes 4 shots. Sarah also had to get a shot during the visit but I didn't tell either of them before we went in an effort to bypass the drama but while we were in the office Sarah asked "are we going to get a shot" and faced with the question directly I couldn't outright lie to her so my answer was a casual "I don't know, maybe". They combined one of the shots for Emily so she ended up only getting 3 sticks and she went first with a nurse on each leg with me holding her hands and  kissing her cheek the whole time and before I could settle Em down it was Sarah's turn. She was very brave considering she just watched her little sister scream and cry. A couple stickers and a lollipop did wonders to make them both feel better. Whew - I am glad that is done. As a mom it kills you when you take you little baby in for shots and they turn red and scream and cry but I think it is worse when they have words to tell you how much it hurts.
