Working Hard for His Money

Ian has been working for months trying to earn money for a wii game he has been coveting. The game was $49 so it had taken him quite sometime considering he would earn $.50 at a time for emptying the dishwasher {one of my most hated things to do} or helping Terry take out the trash. Really just about anything I asked him to do, he would jump at the chance to make some money. I LOVED it because while doing the dishes he learned why I insist on having them rinse their dishes and why it really bugs me when they leave food in the sink. We had good lessons everywhere we turned.

So he was just about there, he was only $10 dollars away and was asking for a way to earn a larger dollar amount. I remembered when I was a kid I would walk around my neighborhood volunteering to wash cars for $5 so I asked him if he would be interested in washing our cars and he didn't hesitate to say yes.Lucky for me there is another game that he is interested in now so I can still count on him to volunteer to wash the dishes.
