We went to the movies tonight as a family to see Narnia - Prince Caspian. I thought it was a good movie and it was fine for Ian, however, the girls are another story. Emily was alternately scared, board or sleepy and Sarah was sad every time someone died {even the bad guys}. What I couldn't get over was the price we paid for our tickets {apparently paying almost $4 for gas has started a hyper awareness and irritation to how much we are paying for things}. The tickets were $10 per adult {luckily I had tickets I bought form Costco for $7.50) and the kids tickets were $7 each. I asked him if the Bridgeport theatre was more expensive or were all the theatres charging that price. Turns out Bridgeport charges more for its movies. I will have to keep that in mind next time we go. I remember years ago {and I really mean years ago} I was on a layover in New York and a bunch of us went to the movies to see A Fish Called Wanda {I said it was LONG ago} and we paid $10 to see a movie and I was shocked because at the time I wasn't even paying $5 on the west coast. I wonder what they are paying now? I couldn't help myself and I checked to see if I could find out the average movie ticket price and I found a list that went all the way back to 1948 when they paid a whooping .38.
