a budding artist

Em's drawing of her family
from left to right: Ian, Emily (holding Ian's hand), Sarah (with a shirt with a picture of a baby on it: I asked), Mom (so nice of her to think of me as tall and thin) and then Dad

Emily has spent the majority of her days lately drawing up a storm like Van Gough in a manic state. I have her artwork all over the place (she put them all up herself) including about 20 sticky notes with small drawings on them stuck to my sliding glass door and about 15 ghosts stuck to the wall and a pile of "books" she has made. Some of them were very funny and I just had to take pictures of them and add them to this blog.

I love the one with what looks like a bathing suit top on and the fact that the belly button is above the top but the one that makes me laugh the most is the one of the baby but not because of what it looks like but because of the story that went along with the drawing. Emily told me that this was a drawing of Ian when he was a baby and that he had a pacifier in his mouth. When she told me I laughed out loud, funny and very cute. Ian doesn't like the drawing but I think I got it across to him that she wasn't trying to make fun of him just draw him as a baby.

I love blogging my kids art. For one thing, it makes me a little less guilty if I happen to recycle it, but also, I think all children should be published. Don't you?!
