One of the best parts of the reunion

When I got to the car rental counter in Burbank there was a long line and one person that wasn't being very nice to the guy behind the counter. I was in an exceptionally good mood, {funny what getting away once in a while can do for you} and didn't mind waiting in line and was extra nice to the worker when it was my turn. He made small talk with me and I was happy to answer. It went something like this:

"What brings you to California?"

"A reunion"

"Oh, are you traveling by yourself?"

"Yes, I am"

"Would you be interested in driving a sports car?"

"WOULD I? YOU BET!"

"How much more a day would you be interested in paying?"

"Hummmmm {hesitation}"

"How about $10 more a day?"

"HOW ABOUT IT! SURE"

And before you knew it I was driving down the California Highway with the top down in a cute little black 250 Nissan Z and loving every minute of it. That car is FAST and it's engine sounds so "mean" - it was a total blast {throw back for the 80's - well, i was at my reunion} to drive and it was fun to watch heads turn {ok, so only two people} as I drove by. Fun, fun, fun!

I drove it with the top down everywhere I went no matter how hot it was {107 one day} or how drenched in sweat I was even with the air conditioning on full blast. It was just meant to drive with the top down.

When the weekend was over and I turned that "cute little thing" back in to the rental place the guy checking me in took one look at the receipt that he printed out and asked "How did you get THAT care for so LITTLE? It normally rents for over $100 a day!"

How fun for me, a cool little, fast, fun, car to drive at a fraction of the cost.
