celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary

Bernard is a cousin {2nd cousin?} of my mom's that I met for the very first time about 6 months ago. I am related too. I think we are 2nd cousins once removed but I'm not sure. Really, the only relationship that stayed in my mind was a very nice 15 year old boy who was Bernard's son's son - well, He is my third cousin. That one for some reason I could remember.

I drove my mom up to La Connor, Washington so she could go the the party and see relatives that she has not seen in quite some time and I had the opportunity to meet them. The trip was 4 1/2 hours each way but it was a fun trip to take with her.
