The kids school has a Mother's Day tradition of a Tea for the mom's fo the Kindergartners and the 1st graders. Emily drew this invitation of us together with tulips and inside:
"Dear Mom,
You are invited to a tea in your honor on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Please go to the Parish Hall. I will meet you there. We will have a wonderful time.
Love, Emily"
Each class sang a couple of songs dedicated to their mom's and then presented us with gifts. The Kindergarten class gave us a cook book with recipes from all the mom's and the kids decorated the pages but the best part was when each Kindergarten got up and said something about their mom's cooking. I need to get the paper for Emily's teacher but to the best of my memory it went something like this -
"I love my Mommy's cooking. I like the ravioli she makes even like the one on TV"
Yep, that would be the ravioli I slave over by using a can opener to open and then the microwave to cook. She loves them and thinks this makes me a good cook.
This song is "A your Adorable"
They also sang "Gentle Woman"
It was seriously too cute, after they sang and gave us our gifts we had punch and cake.
