The kindergarten class has a tradition called Wacky Wednesday where the parents come into the class room and teach the kids something and provide a snack and a drink. Molly Bell and I signed up to do ours together {way back at back to school night}. Our day was the Wednesday before St. Patrick's day so we decided to go with it for a theme. We did a Blarney Stone craft. The Bell's provided all the "stones" and painted them all green and then Molly and I went shopping and got the rest of the items for the kids to decorate there very own Blarney Stone.
Pat {Molly's husband} read the kids a St. Patrick's Day story while Molly and I got everything ready and then the kids went to town. It was so cute to see how the kids made their stone.
Emily and her stone {sporting a hair pretty}
The story behind the Blarney Stone is that if you kiss it you are suppose to be granted the "gift of gab" and since the kids had their speech arts competition coming up the next week we left the stones at school to bring them good luck.
