We have a tradition of heading to Sunriver for Presidents Weekend. It is the prefect long weekend to take the family skiing and there are usually a bunch of other families from the kids school that head down for the weekend too. This year the Slingsby's came along and stayed in our house with us, the Gaffney' were in there home and the Thorstenson's stayed in a house down the street from us. Just about everyone went up to the mountain on Saturday and went skiing {Ian took his first snow boarding lesson} and although it started off rough, who am I kidding it started off horrible {between Sarah leaving a coat at the house, me losing the kids at one point and then loosing a glove while purchasing a new coat for Sarah, Ian falling and hurting his wrist before he even made it to his lesson, and the borrowed gloves I was using being too big and having a pinkie malfunction and Sarah being miserable in her lesson} it turned out to be a good day on the slops. After lunch the sun came out {literally & figuratively} Ian took his lesson and I took Sarah and Elli {Emily was in an all day lesson} on the slop and Sarah did quite well lapping Elli and I eventually going up and down the slop by herself. Besides skiing fun times were had making snowmen, playing with Olive in the snow, and having dinner with friends. A truly great weekend.
