Ian had his Robotics competition this past weekend all the way out in Hilsboro at the Intel campus. We had to be there at 8 am and it was scheduled until 5 pm {we snuck out about 2}. The boys had five events through the day; three where they tried to get their robot to perform certain tasks, one team building event where they are told what they need to build and work together to make it happen, and one presentation where they each present a portion of their topic to a panel of three employees from Intel. Ian's team was called The Weathermen and their topic was too much precipitation. I got to watch their presentation {i videoed it and will post some if I can figure it out} and I was impressed with how well they did. My favorite part was at the end when Ian told the panel that if they had any questions they could raise their hand and they would call on them. It was a great experience for the boys and although they placed near the bottom {if not the bottom} Ian is looking forward to it again next year.
