Our brush with a Year of a Million Dreams

As we walked around the park I noticed people walking around with lanyards around their neck with special fast passes or grey and blue Mickey ears with "Year of a Million Dreams" on them and on the night we watched the parade I met the family chosen to be the grand Marshal of the parade and to sleep in the park that night. On the next day as the girls and I were sitting and waiting for Terry and Ian {in the Haunted Mansion} I noticed a bunch of people walking by who had obviously been given fast passes so we wondered over to the area where they were coming from. We didn't see anyone giving anything out but the girls noticed an employee with pin on their lanyard and asked if they could trade pens with them. We ended up chatting with him for a bit and he gave the girls a Tinkerbell pen and then asked us if we had met with the princess yet. We hadn't, so he gave us a special meeting with them without having to stand in the line that consistently had an hour long wait. So, we may not have gotten to stay in the park, or even received fast passes but we {especially the girls} were grateful for our small brush with a Year of a Million Dreams.

Brenna has told me about how they pick the fast pass and dreams winners, and its so totally random, it's cheat proof! Too bad huh!

Disney (Orlando) has fast passes in ATM looking machines in front of certain rides.
