Getting the Christmas Tree

It is a process and this is just the first step.....

This is our 5th year getting an extra tall tree from the same place. They are already cut so it is usually a quick process - just select the tree while the kids run around crazy giving very little input about which tree they want, have the guy cut off the bottom, and load the tree in the truck, all while I document the event with photos.

We are usually back home in 30 minutes.

That's when the real work begins - getting a 16 foot {shorter than last year} tree on it's stand and into the house without killing ourselves. This year Mark Potter helped Terry {last year Peder T helped} while I directed what side I wanted out but in years past it was just Terry and I getting that huge thing in and up. I must say it is much easier being the "director" than the "mover". Now - lights!
