We went to Sunriver for the last week of August for our last hurrah before school started and had a blast golfing, swimming, bike riding {lots and lots of bike riding}, hanging out, reading, exploring, and generally having a relaxing good time.

This is a picture of Sarah when we mentioned that she should learn to ride her bike with out her training wheels. She actually broke down and began to cry {oh, the drama}. The funny thing about it was that her training wheels were barley touching anyway and most of the time while she was riding she was balancing without them - she just hadn't figured it out yet. Once we got the training wheels off and convinced her to try she was off and riding with no trouble at all and she went from sad face to very happy and proud face. Once she figured it out she was a bike riding fiend and could be found riding around the cul-de-sac for hours.
We were a bike riding family this summer and even rode all the way to the south pool {it was quite far and the kids idea) and to lunch at Mc Divot's and goose watching at the pond. Anytime we talked about going somewhere they asked if we could ride our bikes.

The celling was so low Emily could touch it.

We explored the lava river cave {a mile hike in and another mile out} and the kids had a great sense of adventure and wanted to go all the way to the end. We went as far as we could walk {stooping for the last part} and called it quits when we reached the part you had to crawl on your hands and knees to get to {Sarah was ready to get on all fours and got to the end}

The celling was so low Emily could touch it.

We went on the Crooked River Dinner Train and had a great time trying to solve the mystery of who shot Jesse James all the while being entertained by the servers who stayed in their characters of the wild west. It was a fun adventure and Sarah and Ian even figured out that little Joe shot Jesse.
