Tooth Fairy Adventures

Ian had his new friend Charles {as in just getting to know each other, 2nd play date, 1st sleepover} over tonight for a sleepover and when they should have been asleep I heard Ian walking down the stairs. He came to inform me that Charles had a loose tooth and it was about to come out. I headed up with a baggie and some tissue and watched while he wiggled it and yanked it out all the while asking him questions like "Do you plan on taking it home and putting it under your pillow there", and then once I established that he planed to put it under his pillow here TONIGHT I asked, "How much do you normally get from the tooth fairy?" and "Are you sure you want to put it under your pillow HERE, tonight?" Once he yanked it out he got up cleaned it, a ritual that his younger sister told him that if  he did he would receive more money and as he was walking out of the bathroom he turned out the light and hit his had on the door jam and I heard  a  "tink" as the tooth hit the floor. Charles and I got on my hands and knees looking for he "lost" lost tooth. We had just about given up and Charles was about to write a note to the Tooth Fairy when I found it in the carpet next to the bathroom door - Whooh, disaster thwarted! The pressure is now on - it is after 11:30 PM and I, I mean, the Tooth Fairy now needs to stay awake until Charles and Ian are sleeping to make the switch. The Tooth Fairy doesn't have a very good track record here at the Sedgewick household - she is often on her night off whenever there is a tooth under the pillow and we have had to have understanding kids who realize just how hard the poor fairy works. Somehow I don't think this will fly {so to speak} with the boy who's sister is currently in fairy camp with Sarah this week. I hope she doesn't fall asleep on the job tonight.

P.S. - The Tooth Fairy did not fall asleep on the job {this time}.

Okay so I am dying to know-- did the fairy make it or was she otherwise occupied with sleep?
