Dan and Roxanna Gerstenberger {my Dad's cousin} were in Oregon for a wedding and came by for a visit. Roxanna and my Dad's dad were brothers. I met Roxanna for the very first time when my dad was sick and she and her husband came to our wedding and we have continued to keep in touch via Christmas cards through the years. During our visit I tried to find out what my biological grandfathers name was {I could call my Uncle Larry to find out} something that I realized I didn't know while I was trying to figure out just how Roxanna and I were related anyway {I think we are second cousins}. Chatting with Roxanna made me interested in my family tree {she thinks someone is researching the Seeger line} and I would love to get more information. I really don't know anything about my Dad's family and when he passed away in 1992 he was the oldest living Seeger {my Uncle Larry is currently the oldest living Seeger}.
BTW, the 'smirk' on my face instead of a smile is due to the fact that I had the dentist appointment I had that morning and had a tooth drilled for a crown. I was still numb and could only smile a half smile.

Check out ancestry.com. They have a two week trial period... Andrew and I researched my dad's family back to the 1700's in Europe and even hooked up with a person that had a mutual ancestor back in the 1800's. She sent pictures of gravesites and more biography info....pretty cool!! I had always heard that on my mom's side a man named Brewster came over on the Mayflower, we were able to confirm this through ancestry.com.
Oh...look at your flowering baskets! BEAUTIFUL!!
Susannah, I actually talked to Uncle Larry within the last year and got a bunch of info from him about Dad's part of the fam. And he said he has quite a bit more than what he sent me. I'll make photo copies and send what I have to you..as soon as I come across it. I've moved somewhat recently and have some things in boxes still. Anyway, there are some cool pic's I'd never seen before.
