Escape. Relax. Rejuvenate. . .Last July we hosted the Black's wedding reception in our yard and as a 'Thank you" they gave Terry and I a gift certificate to the Avalon Hotel and Spa for the 'Romance on the River' package {included the room, parking, champagne and chocolates} and they also gave us a gift certificate to the spa for both Terry and I to get and hour long massage. So her it is June 28/29 with the hotel certificate is about to expire I finally made a reservation for us {with gentle reminders from Angela :) . Nothing like waiting to the last minute. It is just hard to carve out the time for Terry and I to spend time together like this or maybe better said, we just don't make this kind of time for each other other than our anniversary {I know we should} so it was truly a wonderful gift {over the top really} but it was something we would not have done for ourselves on our own. We headed down town on Friday night {on our way down I realized that I didn't have my camera - very bummed} and checked in and indulged in the champagne, and then showered and headed out to dinner to a fantastic spot that Tom {another partner} told Terry about called Luceair {I'm not sure how to spell it} The restaurant is only 5 weeks old so I can't find anything about it on line about it yet. I really wished that I had had my camera because not only was the food fantastically good it was presented so beautifully too. On a funny side we ran into three different couples having dinner that we knew. When we got back to our room there was another bottle of champagne and a piece of chocolate cake and a small cup of chocolate mouse, yum! {We had already had enough champagne so we didn't open the bottle}. The next day we checked out late, grabbed lunch and then headed back to the hotel for our spa appointments - Heaven! What a wonderful way to be pampered. If that wasn't all enough after we were done we headed to Bridgeport to see a movie. What a wonderful weekend {really it was barley over 24 hours but it felt like an entire weekend}. Thank you Brad & Angela. We had a wonderful time, you are too generous.

The only pictures taken from the Internet because I forgot my camera
