Transportation

First let me say that they drive a bit crazy in Mazatlan. The first night we were there was especially crazy as it was Good Friday and spring break in Mazatlan so there were a lot of locals there and they were cruising the "Golden Zone" and apparently it is against the law to drink and drive although, it is not heavily enforced {it is a new law} especially not on this weekend. It took us an hour to travel a short distance because the locals were on spring break and cruising the Golden Zone and we witnessed people traveling in the back of trucks and in convertibles all with their coolers in plain sight with drinks in hand as they drove. It was interesting to say the least

This cute little open air taxi is called a 'Pulmonia' {pull-my-knee-a} which means pneumonia in English with a loose translation as open air. They were fun to ride in and we did often but had to get two of them if all eight of us were going out as they could only hold four or five of us at a time.

We also rode the bus quite often (it was less expensive) and Mazatlan had a surprisingly easy system to navigate where ever we wanted to go. Some buses were nicer than others.

They also had these red small pick up trucks {think Nissan} that had canopy's over them and we road in the back. These could fit all eight of us.
