So, I took Emily out of preschool. It is official today. I had my mom watch Emily and I dropped off the letter at the school and when I pressed the security buzzer they said "How can I help you" instead of the normal "come in" while buzzing me in. I think it was a coincidence {maybe} and they couldn't really see who I was and I did come at an off time but it was strange after 6 years to hear 'how can I help you?'
When I handed the letter to Dwight {front desk/accountant} he did look a little sad when he said he would send me a check and contact me when they gathered Emily's things. That was it. I walked out of the building, got into my car, and drove away. Then I cried, I was profoundly sad but couldn't really figure out why and was rather surprised by the emotion.
Since then, I have officially been home schooling {if you can call it that} Emily. We have painted with shaving cream and finger paints and and I have worked hard tho help her figure out the the letter 'E' is an 'E' and not an 'M'. I think the confusion comes from the fact that I call her EM a lot and she knows that her name starts with an E. I think she might have it now. Since I started home schooling I have found another use for my very favorite scrapbook tool - the Circut - and have been cutting out 10 inch letters of the day for her and we decorate them and she love her 'homework' {pages out of a workbook}. I still haven't told her that she is no longer going to school but she is a smart cookie and I think she will figure it out soon.

You will be the best teacher, and if you are interested, I have a great program for preschoolers that you might like. I'll look it up tonight.
