Sunday was the start of Ian's flag football season. It is through a company called i9 and they do a very good job at it. We decided to sign Ian up {even though he is playing lacrosse at the same time} because it seams to be a easy time commitment and a great opportunity to learn more for his next season of tackle football in the fall. The commitment is Sunday afternoons {plenty of time for church} at 2pm the team practices {while the girls cheer another team on - look for more on this one in another post soon} and then their game from 3 to 4.
It turned out to be a great game {Ian's team winning} and all the boys had a great time. Ian even made an interception. It just fell into his hands {he readily admits} but he managed to hang onto it which was quite exciting on the side lines. The field was very muddy {remember my fall in the mud} thanks to Oregon's rainy spring weather {torrential downpours and hail while they were practicing} so all the boy's were quite muddy when it was all said and done. Ian even slipped in a mud puddle {mother like son?} to add to all the muck. I made him take off his shoes and pants but a friend of mine gave me a great tip. Big black garbage bags. You slip them over the kid {shoes and all} then you don't get mud in the car and they can strip them off when they get home.
