I am a photographer.......I think?

So my pictures went up...... kind of. After staying up until 2:20 in the morning trying to get some business cards made I showed up at starbucks and the other artist still had there are work up (Ok, it was just 9:30 in the morning but I was excited). The barista told me that they would call the artist and have him come get his stuff and I said I would be back around noon. I was back at noon (yep, still excited) and the other art was still up. It was beautiful, but this was my very first time to display my pictures and I just wanted him to take his stuff down! (I will have to remember that at the end of the month) Just as I had given up (I sat around under the guise of having a cup of coffee with my mom) the other artist came in and took his stuff down. Yippee! I get to put my stuff up (I did restrain myself and only jumped up and down on the inside).
So there I was, all excited and ready to put up my 8 + photos.......... but there were only 4 hooks. It turns out that they took the extra clips down (because the other artist only had 4 pieces) and put them away but now they can't find them. To my disappointment I only got to put up two pictures on each wall. Not only do I not to get to put very many pictures my two little pictures look lost on the wall. I wished I had printed bigger pictures but...... it is what it is. I am a bit disappointed; in my mind I saw the walls with a fantastic display of my photos but what I see looks wimpy. I am dealing with it and rotating my pictures out. No one has contacted me as of yet (I only put my email address on the business card because if someone wanted to contact me I wanted to make sure they really wanted to contact me) but I am not so sure I am really a photographer yet. I can photograph my own kids (they cooperate very well) but other kids, well that’s another story. Im not sure I am ready for the stress of a paying customer. I did take some pictures of some kids from school. I haven’t given them to the mom yet so I don't know if she likes them or not.
I would really like to take a photography class on portraiture but am having trouble finding one in Oregon. I don't know how else to gain confidence.
Well, enough complaining. My pictures are displayed at Starbucks (all be it not many of them), I am photographing friends kids and other friends have asked me if I will photograph their kids - I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER............I think?
