We gave Terry the Encyclopedia Britannica for his birthday because he kept saying that we needed them in the house. He likes the idea of looking through the books for information and reading what ever else you might come across as oppose to looking on the Internet for everything. Today Sarah asked Terry a question about cells which led to nucleus, which led to opening the Encyclopedia and reading what it had to say on the topic and much to Terry's delight after the discussion was done Emily took the book and leafed through it. Emily can't read yet but we like the idea that is something other than the Information Highway (Internet) available to get your answers from. Especially since you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.
