Table Topics

Sarah picked up one of my Table Topics boxes and asked me what it was and before I knew it we were discussing some interesting questions. Here are some of the more interesting ones:

Which historical sporting event would you like to witness?
Sarah: Superbowl
Emily: Indy 500 {I was surprised by this answer but then she reminded me that she watched that movie with the teen girl dragster driver}
Mom: Kentucky Derby
Me: Superbowl if my team was playing and I had good seats

Would you rather be a great musician, artist, or athlete
Emily: artist {she said without hesitation
Sarah: athlete - to go to the Olympics
Mom: musician
Me: artist {photography}

Where would you most like to travel?
Emily: Mexico because she likes jelly fish and turtles
Sarah: Australia
Mom: Greece
Me: Fiji

What do yo think is the ideal age?
Emily: 16
Sarah: 27
Mom: 40
Me: 36 {oh, how i wish}

If you could rename yourself what name would you choose?
Emily: I like Emily but if I did Julia
Sarah: I would keep mine
Mom: stay the same
Me: I like my name, I would keep it.

What makes you laugh the hardest?
Emily: the Simpson's
Sarah: my best friend Megan
Mom: different things
Me: my kids & my friends

If you could change one thing about the way you look what would it be?
Emily: my ears because I want earrings.
Sarah: nothing
Mom: choose not to answer
Me: keeping it to myself {so as not to hurt my girls self esteem}

I really had a great time listening to their answers, we asked so many more questions - these were just some of the best.

Kid Topics

Tara and I bought a pack of Table Topics for kids called KidsTopics while we were in New York and I have been meaning to start asking the kids a question once in a while but have at this point only managed to put the pack on my table and open the package. The other night Tara posted her question and answer secession with her kids on her blog and I was inspired to finally ask my kids one of the questions. My goal is to occasionally (once a week at least) ask them a question and see where the conversations goes with the kids. So here is my first question and their answers.

If you could stay up all night what would you like to do?

Ian: "I wouldn't be too active, I would watch TV but if nothing appropriate is on then I would go to bed".

Sarah: "Watch TV and go to bed. Play a few games, why am I going to Molly's?"

Emily: I would like to play games and watch TV and I would like to eat cherry's and I would like to eat strawberry's and I would like to plant in the garden"
Mom: " but it would be dark outside."
Emily: "I could use Daddy's flashlight when it is all charged up."
