If your wish to be perfect, go, sell what you own, give it all to the poor, then come, follow me (Mt. 19)
Lord Jesus, today we celebrate the feast of St. Anthony who knew what it was to give all to the poor and to follow you. From this example, may we take some time to reflect on our own lives and see how we can let go of our belongings and give to the poor. May we remember all those who are in need this day. We ask this in your name. Amen.

What a nice prayer. Helps us to remember that we don't "need" all the things we WANT, and to be greatful for what we have.
Oh man, isn't SO HARD to actually do that? To let go of the world, or at least to try to not be consumed by it?? I try, in small amounts, but can you imagine actually giving up EVERYTHING you own?
