Aideen called on Sunday afternoon and invited us to join them at the Great Wolf Lodge. They had gone there for the weekend and had 4 passes {you have to stay at the lodge in order to play in the water park} and she was wondering if I would consider rallying and driving for an hour and a half to join them for the day. So Monday morning {the kids didn't have school} I loaded up the kids and off we went! On the drive up as we were almost there I was talking to Aideen on the phone and actually witnessed a 18 wheeler jack-knife literally beside me. The car in front of the truck put on its breaks and I watched the trucks tires lock up as I was passing him. I looked in my rear view mirror and watched his second trailer jack-knife behind me and then come unhooked and go across the right line {right behind me} completely on its own with all the traffic behind me slamming on their breaks. From my point of view it looked like everyone was able to keep from getting in a terrible accident {there may have been a few dents} but it left me practically hyperventilating and unable to tell Aideen what had just happened for a few moments but she knew something was up by the panic in my voice and said a prayer for us. Whewwwwww!
So, once we made it there safely the kids were off and playing, splashing and sliding and having a great time. The bigger kids hung out together with Aideen checking in with them occasionally and I hung out watching Emily in the littler kid area. Emily and I walked over to the area with the BIG bucket that dumps thousands of gallons of water {yes, it did cross my mind once that I hoped for water conservation that they were filtering and cleaning the water and using it again} and accidentally got caught in the huge spill.

Reading about the 18-wheeler made my heart jump into MY throat....Even though I have seen you all since this happen and KNOW everyone is fine...the thought made my heart pound just reading it.
This was a GREAT trip -- thank God your Guardian Angel was awake and watching this morning. Remember how cool you were on the phone the whole time -- all you kept saying was 'Oh my God, Oh my God . . .' Looks like we turn to Him when we most need Him! xoxoxo me
