Tara has a cute, cute, cute new puppy named Sadie and was going out of town for the weekend and didn't really want to take Sadie with her so I volunteered to puppy sit. She didn't ask, I volunteered to watch her and was glad to do it. Tara thought she was putting me out and even gave me the option to say I couldn't do it however, I looked at it like the best opportunity to act like you have a new puppy but not have all the responsibilities. I told the kids the night before that we were going to pup sit and on the drive to school Emily said "Mom, it's the next day do we get the puppy yet?". Needless to say, my kids were excited. We have a dog and they love him and like to play with him but there is something about puppies that are oh so cute not to mention that Ogee is a huge lab weighing about 110 lbs and Sadie is a little long hair puppy who can't weigh more than 4 lbs. I dropped the big kids off at school and headed on over to Tara's house and picked up Sadie and Emily and I spent the morning playing with her. We had so much fun and Sadie loves to ride in peoples laps and snuggled up so nice and quiet in Emily's lap every time we took her out.
I had a physical therapy appointment and it was the first hot day we have had in a long time so I left Sadie at home in our laundry room with all the doors closed and with a bunch of stuff on the stairs {I really didn't think she could get up the stairs anyway} and off I went. When I returned home I opened the door and expected to see a cute little puppy wagging her tail, happy to see us but she was nowhere to be found. I kept looking around and calling her name all the while thinking, where could she be?, How could have taken her?. I started to get a little worried and headed up the stairs only to see the happy little puppy at the top of the stairs. Emily spent the rest of the afternoon playing with Sadie and then we took her with us to pick up the big kids. I sure learned one thing today - cute puppies make you popular. Not only did the kids want to see her so did all the mom's in car line. Dog's aren't really aloud at school so we did our best to keep our distance but Sadie loved the big grass field and tried to go run and play with the kids a couple of times. We had such a good time watching Sadie and would do it again in a heartbeat. At one point during the day when Emily was holding Sadie she said "When poor Ogee dies can we get one of these?". She meant a cute little puppy. No offence Ogee, we still love you and don't want to replace you.
Our Dog Ogee
We think he is a cool dog {even if he isn't so little & cute}

You are the best friend! Thank you! I promise I'll go out of town again soon :)
Great pictures!! I wish I could puppy sit. Although I tried that once with my sister Elizabeth's new little puppy and that little thing whined ALL night! I guess not all puppies are created equal. :) Can't wait to meet Sadie!
Yay! I'm glad that you took pictures. Tara has been not-so-good at posting pictures of Sadie on her blog. Very cute.
I don't normally check other comments after I've commented, but I felt like I needed to since it related to Sadie, and in response, I feel like I have a newborn, and every free second I had, is now taken up by watching her wait to poop or pee, so I'm glad, once again, to have a friend like Susannah, to take great pictures of Sadie. I hope you all understand :)
