Mother Son Dance

Ian and I attended the Mother & Son Dance at the Oregon Golf Club last night and had a great time together. The theme was western with a mechanical bull, poker, dancing, a bunch of other fun stuff for the boys. We sat with Tara and her Mom, Tara's boys, Parker & Spencer, and Kathleen and Connor.

Ian loved riding the bull and attempted it many times.  We even got to dance together a few times.

Ian spent a quite a bit of time playing cards {he said he was the best at Texas Hold'em} and finally managed to win a pasta night for two. He was very proud of himself and I was proud of him too {especially because he wants to take me} but ever the mom, I couldn't resist the opportunity to talk about the pitfalls of gambling with real hard earned money. Hopefully it didn't go in one ear and out the other.
On the drive home Ian had realized how much time he had spent trying to win the pasta night {without any prompting from mom} and he said "Sorry I spent so much time away from you Mom". Im just thrilled that he still likes to hang out with me. I have at least one more year that he will want to go to the dance and if I push it two - He sure is growing up so fast.
