Kindergarten Round-up
Emily had Kindergarten Round-up at Our Lady of the Lake School today. For a while there when ever we would drop off Ian and Sarah at School she would ask when she would get to go to the "big" school. It seemed as though she could wait to be with the big kids. I, on the other hand, am a little less ready for her to go. She is the baby and with only one child at home life has gotten much easier for me. It really is bitter sweat - the idea of her going to Kindergarten. On the one hand, I will have more time to do what I want to do, I will be able to volunteer at the school without wondering what I am going to do with Em, and I will be able to work out at the gym without having to bribe Em to go into the child care, but on the other hand, I kind of like having a little buddy to run errands with and eat lunch with. It's kind of fun always having someone who wants to get their toe nails painted with me. In general the mundane things I have to do on a daily basis are more fun with Emily along for the ride and listening to her observations of her view of life out the van window. Once we arrived at the school and started walking up the sidewalk she got a little shy and said "I don't know if I want to go to school at this school because I have never been there". When I reminded her that this is where Sarah & Ian go and that we are here all the time she said "But I have never gone to school here before". So when we were waiting for the round-up to begin she was a little hesitant {just like her mom} but gave me a kiss and off she went to play {for an hour} while the parents got introduced to each other and got all the information we needed to send our kids off to school in the fall. When I picked Em up at the classroom, I found her playing Lego's with 3 little boys and she seamed quite comfortable. I forgot my camera {third time around, it didn't occur to me to bring it} so I have some pictures on my phone that I need to figure out how to get on my computer and a couple of friends took some of her on their camera so when I get them I will add them to the post. In approximately three months my baby will go to kindergarten and I will have ALL three kids in school. What am I going to do with myself?
