About a week ago a friend of mine told me that her sister-in-law saw my work when it was up in Starbucks and she was interested in having me photograph her daughter who was having her first communion. Can I say yikes! Don't get me wrong. I love photography. Its just different when someone {other than myself} is expecting something from me. Also photography is subjective. What I might find beautiful, the young girls mother might not. Miley is a good example; the famous photographer thought the picture was beautiful - the general public not so much. Not that I am going to photograph her in a sheet, I guess what I am saying is photographing other peoples children or families puts me in on the line for criticism {and Im not sure I am ready for that}. Also, first communion is one of those once in a lifetime events that you don't necessarily get a do over on. After all of this went through my mind in about a nano second I said "yes" I would do it. Today was the big day and here is what I got. I think I got a few beautiful shots, but then again I haven't shown them to the family yet.
